There are four major asthma drugs: Bronchodilators, Anti-Inflammatory drugs, Leukotriene blockers and Anti-Ige medications. Once you’ve been diagnosed with asthma, your doctor may prescribe more than one asthma medication to relieve asthma symptoms and control asthma for the long-term.     I'm surprised to see Accolate up there, I take it but whenever I go into hospital I have to explain to the docs what it is and what I take it for, maybe it's more common in the USA than here.

    i take alot of asthma meds - all of which benefit me very little- singulair, symbicort,duoneb,maxair and right now the dreaded prednisone - my doc does a 6 day taper cause he doesn't want me on it daily but i just want to breathe!!!! don't know what else to try? any ideas?- anyone?

    Xolair!  See if you qualify and then see if it helps.  It isn't a huge difference but it is a subtle improvement.  I take what I can get.

    like you joey I take Accolate and ALWAYS have to explain to the docs & nurses what it is. Do you feel the benefit of this drug?

    I tried Xolair and i had to stop because I had a bad reaction my thoart started closing
