Masks - either for combating germs or outdoor excerise

posted 34 months ago by dawn

There are some sites that sell masks for many purposes.   Some claim to assist Asthmatics in cold weather, allergy season, etc.

Has anyone tried any of these and found that they work?   If so, has anyone had success with combating humidity?

I cycled yesterday w/o a mask and today with a mask.  Not sure if my improved breathing can be attributed to the mask or I'm just having a good day......  Just curious if anyone has experience with them.

Thx, D

I've not tired them for excersising outside, but I know that in London a lot of cyclists use them because of the car fumes and there has been some news that it helps asthmatics there, but I rarely go outside or excersise so there' little use of them for me.

i've never used a mask either.  i've contemplated them, and think i'd definitely wear one if i went on a plane for germ protection, but for the day-to-day stuff i've never worried about it.

i've worn them before. some days i have to wear them if i just want to go outside. i haven't worn them for exercising outside mostly because i don't exercise much due to my asthma. i do wear them when i clean my house... can't do that without a mask. when i wear them they do seem to help. it depends on how bad the air is outside and if i'm having a bad asthma day. when i wear them they do help me.

I find them helpful when dusting or vacuuming.
