Do you nebulise? What do you use in your nebuliser?

Is your condition bad enough that you need to nebulise on a regular basis? If so, what do you use in your nebuliser? I used to use Salbutamol, but recently became allergic to it and since I also have an allergy to Atrovent, I now use bricanyl or terbertaline nebulisers, the down side is they are not as effective and make your heart race, hence the heart rate of 200+ when I was in hospital last time.

My asthma isn't severe enough to require a nebulizer--I just use FloVent and Salbutamol by inhaler and Singulair.

I use Xopenex both in my nebulizer and as a rescue inhaler.

My normal day to day routine is via nebuliser, has been since 2005 when my condition really deteriorated

I use Ventolin 5mg/2.5mls. Normal daily dose is 4 times a day, with increases as necessary, sometimes 2 in a row or as much as 2 or 1 hourly before giving in and hitting the ER. I generally use a mouthpiece unless I am so bad then I switch to a mask.

Added to this I use Atrovent 2mcg/2ml. Should be a 6 hrly drug, so used 4 times a day but I try not to rely on 4 a day and use it as my 1st step up med when flaring. I always have an Atrovent neb with a Ventolin neb am and pm, so that leaves me with 2 extras to use when deteriorating. Atrovent must always be used through a mask.

I also use normal 0.9% or Hypertonic 6% saline nebs when gunky with a cold/cough/infection. This is used through a mask as it benefits my nose too.

I have home nebulised for 18 years on and off, and am happy to say the delivery and drugs have really changed and improved!

I have 3 nebulisers. Omron Microair-pocket sized thing-good for the cinema, but not very good when having an attack/flaring.

My favourite travel neb-Pari-Boy Mobile S-fab neb!

My Home workhorse neb-Medix World traveller-hi flo. A really good sturdy strong flow!

I have nebulisers but ahve a strict protocol for using them

    My daily nebuliser regime is:

Ventolin 5mg every four hours but when i ahve a cold or chest infectiong this is increased to every two hours and can be used back to back in an emergency.

Atrovent 500mcg four times a day and can be used after two abck to back ventolin nebs during an attack.

Pulmicort 2mg nebule. Twice a day in the morning and before bed.

I ahve had nebulizers for years and dont think there has been a day in the last six years that i havnt used my nebuliser.

I have three nebulisers too. I have a Omron microair whihc is excellent for out and about. I have a Omron Compair elite for ventolin and then use my portaneb for my pulmicort and atrovent as it is a more powerful nebuliser and is a bit quicker than the others.

ooh all very similar histories. I too nebulider ventolin 5mg & atrovent 500mcg upt tofour times a day. I use 2mg of budesonide n nebulised and hypeertonic saline 6% once a day but more if gunky. I also have to nebulise colomycin 2 million unuits twice a day as I am colonized with pseudomonas.

like a lot of youI have three nebulisers the Omron microair which seems the most popular for taking out and about. My daily use one in the new pari e-flow rapid which is really quick & I have a spare pari boy mobile just in case!
